We need to get some trees cut in our garden but I am not sure if we can? How do we find out if the tree is protected as the house is very old and so is the tree by the size and look of it?
Barry says, you will need to contact your local Borough Council. They should have a record of all trees with preservation orders on them. You will also if they are protected need to apply for any work you intend to do. To carry on without permission you could be fined and these are quite excessive in thousands rather than hundreds
